“Capra” custom, Moldavia

Medium sized drums with two skins and a cymbal mounted on the top are often used to accompany dances in Moldavia, Maramureș and Bihor. They are generally struck with a wooden mallet on one skin and with a thinner stick on the rim or cymbal. Smaller drums are used during the customs of Colinde (carolling) and Capra.
