This is the region around the old regional city of Rădăuți. The eastern limits cross over with the zone of Siret, and the western limits extend from the flat lands into the mountain valleys ^[1]. Like many of the zones in Moldavia, the ethnographic zones are based around the major towns that have previously been the administrative areas. Note that the “Dictionar de Arta Populară” ^[2] only has an entry for the city.
